17 Spring Vintage Love Collection Nail Polishes

It's hard to remember despite having this lovely weather that is is only Spring. So I clearly needing new pastel nail colours and I saw one of these on the lovely (yet evil enabler!) Vivianna's blog I had to go and investigate the rest of the colours. They were on 3 for 2 when I was there so clearly I picked up 3! I chose:

Chaperone - A nice pale grey that does tend to chip quite easily but looks lovely while it lasts.

Woo Me - A really lovely lilac colour that unfortunately needs a few coats and a bit of patience.

Sweet Kisses - My favourite of the three and it's a dusky baby pink that I get loads of compliments on whilst wearing, and you get a good 2 days without chipping but it does need a shocking 4 coats.

Will you be checking these out or have you already got some?

Ladies Day

So on the Scott Mills Show they have had men on the lookout for "Ladies Day" which is the day when ladies get their arms and legs out for summer. As we all know it really isn't as simple as that and the preparation for this infamous "Ladies Day" can actually take weeks!

So here are the products I have been using to prepare my skin for the spring/summer season.

Lush's Dream Cream - This has been a life saver on my dry arms and legs. It smells gorgeous and is really thick and creamy thanks to the oat milk and olive oil in there. I just rub it all over my arms and legs before I go to bed to let in sink in over night. It also contains lavender oil which helps me sleep too!

Burt's Bees' Coconut Foot Creme - This is the thickest foot cream I have ever used and it works miracles it moistures your feet so well even those dry hard bits! I just put this all over my feet again before bed and pop some socks on so it doesn't rub on the sheets.

Sally Hansen Maximum Growth - My nails had become quite brittle and flaky over the winter months so the other day I decided to clip them all off and file them properly. I then remembered that I brought this last summer when my nails just wouldn't grow! So I put one coat on and just layer it up for about 3 days and then start again. I do find that it helps the nails grow with more of the pinkness from the skin rather than just the white which sounds weird but was a problem I had before.

Spiezia Rose and Vanilla Face Oil - This was brought for my mum ages ago by my aunt but she never used it and I found it sat lonely in the bathroom cabinet! I also use this at night as it's a nice deep moisturiser that would be way too heavy for daytime. I just cleanse my skin and then replace my moisturiser with this. I had never really heard of the brand before so I decided to check out the website and saw that the bottle I have retails at £20.50 which I was first shocked at but then thought it was actually quite reasonable and the only reason I have "used" so much of mine is because I accidentally dropped it the other day and  about an 1/8 or more spilt out!

Lush's R&B Hair Moisturiser - I LOVE this product! I tend to just use it on the very ends but in the lead up to spring I have been doing a ponytails worth. Again I sleep in this as I always want it in for as long as possible but it leaves your ends SO soft and gives them a really nice shine. You could use it all over if you have quite dry hair but mine tends to get greasy at the roots fairly quickly.

Have you started preparing for "Ladies Day" yet?

NOTD - Nails Inc, Caramel and Barry M Nail Effects

I did this a while ago just to first try out the Nail Effects. It's quite simple but almost gives a leopard print effect which lots of people commented on.  It lasted quite a long time and the Caramel colour has become one of my favourites at the minute which is awesome since I got it free with Diet Coke.

Rimmel's Lash Accelerator Mascara

This is the only mascara that I have been using for the past couple of months. It has literally blown the others out of the water.

(Unfortunately it has started to suffer the brand rubbing off fate!)

The brush is really long and coats your lashes after just a few sweeps. However be careful waving it around as I have ended up with mascara in my hair on several occasions when I haven't been paying attention to what  I'm doing!

It doesn't leave your lashes too clumpy and you can see the lengthening effects instantly. It does also help your lashes to grow and mine are very full now and even my bottom lashes are pretty long. I will admit I did only originally buy this because it was on offer at Superdrug a while ago. My only problem with this mascara is that is takes a while to dry so don't sneeze after you put it on (like I regularly do!) or up to at least a minute after as you will have nice mascara marks.

Apart from that I would definitely purchase this mascara again especially since it is only £8.99!

NOTD - Nails Inc, Jermyn Street

This is a really nice grey/brown colour. It takes just two coats to get bottle colour and is fairly long lasting. I do get a lot of compliments when wearing this. It also dries really quickly like other Nails Inc's do.

EOTD - Brown smokey eye MAC

I decided to do a smoky eye look using the MAC items I had picked up over the last couple of weeks, and here it is:

I used bare study paint pot all over the lid and up to the brow, then quarry in the inner corner and a blend of quarry and folie all over the lid. I then used Brown down in the outer corner and along the lower lash line and finished with two coats of Rimmel's Lash Accelerator.

I think it's a nice look for everyday without being too dramatic.

NOTD - Nails Inc, Warwick Avenue

Yes the first thing I think of when I hear the name of this nail varnish is this! However this is a really nice nail varnish and doesn't go on as streaky as Pink-ing of you by OPI does. This is about 4! coats but it's a lot pinker in real life and slightly brighter than the bottle. I didn't photograph it in the normal style as the bottle colour really drained out the colour from the nails. It's a nice change from a nude colour without going for statement nails. Like all Nails Inc it dries really quickly and I think it may be one to look at if you feeling a bit girly!

Collective MAC haul

This is a couple of weeks worth of MAC shopping and just a look at what I got.

So I went in for the Cham-pale collection which didn't really grab my eye but this pallete in the Mickey Contractor really caught my eye. So I picked it up and then really like the look of the Gulabi lipstick but it had sadly sold out but the assistant told me it was practically a dupe for Girl about town so I got that too!

Swatches L-R: Jaan, Vivah, Folie, Carbon and Girl about town.

Then I was watching Michelle1218's brown smokey brown eye and was feeling pretty inspired so I brought:
Quarry, All that glitters (why did I not own this before?), Brown down and Hue. Which compared to above looks a bit boring but I think I might be a little bit more excited about these at the moment!

Swatches L-R: All that glitters, Quarry, Brown Down and Hue.

Have you brought anything exciting recently?

Backcomb in a bottle.

I got this product a while ago as I picked it up when Laura mentioned the Umberto Giannini dry shampoo. Anyway the day I picked it up my hair had no volume and to be honest I didn't really have high hopes for it but boy I was wrong. I use just by spraying it straight onto my hair and then pushing my hair upwards towards the roots. I will admit that I haven't tried anything fancy but it works for me like that so that is how I shall continue to use it! My only flaw with this product is that if you get it ANYWHERE on your skin it literally starts to burn after a few seconds. It does go away not long after but it's definitely something that you should be pre-warned about, (it's not just on me I did also deliberately spray it on my a few of my friends for full testing purposes!). Smell wise  it's not that bad just like hairspray really and the hold has lasted me for nights out/the next morning very well.

For £5.61 it's a darn good product and if you haven't checked it out it's worth a look.

Stock photo as mine looks like something died on it!

Blog Fail!

Yep over the past 3 *cries* months I've been having a bit of a blog fail. I'm hoping to change this now that I have finished the dreaded personal statement for my university application! A few small updates I dyed my hair using henna so it went from a weird mismatched blondeish/greenish! colour:
To an overall much more brown colour all over:
Yes I did collect all the Glamour magazines and the nail varnishes however I didn't manage to get all the ones from the diet coke offer (forever ago). I have also managed (despite working in a shop) to fail at sale shopping and now we all have to face the delight of VAT going up tomorrow!

Onwards with report writing!
